Hi Friends,

This is an excellent forum to talk about your business. The purpose of us being here is discuss ways that we can build our businesses using social media or social networking.

So, if you would, tell us very briefly about your business - what you do, who is your target market, what kind of success you've seen, what are your struggles, how can members in this group help you and finally... what is your most pressing need at the moment?

I'll take a shot at it first:

I'm a copywriter and marketing strategist, which means, I don't just write copy for you, but I like to be involved in helping you with the development of your overall marketing plan. My target market is solopreneurs and small businesses.

I've found great success on using Facebook and twitter build relationships that have ultimately led to either client or JV relationships.

Members in this group can help me by making referrals to my services or by using them. One other area that I work in is coaching folks on how to use Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites to build their brand and subsequently get more clients.

My most pressing need is to find more people with products they're looking to market and want to sell them through JV's. I'm not a product developer. My strength is in marketing.

So happy to be here! I'm glad you found a space big enough for you to maintain all the friends you acquired over the years as well as accumulate more.

To all the friends I haven't yet had the privilege of meeting, here's a little info about me:

(the short) I make video. I pitch video. I teach other people how to make video that builds credibility and sells product.

(the long) I am a Multimedia Producer and Consultant. I've had the great fortune of working in film and television as well as in viral video optimization for a very successful internet marketing company. Today, I work with clients to find simple, budget conscious ways to produce videos that get their message to their TARGET audience.

My target market is solopreneurs and small businesses. You could say I sell "Big Budget Hollywood" secrets to the little guy.

Members can help me by friending me here, on Facebook, Twitter and of course visiting my blog http://www.mediamojito.com. I would love to start a dialogue to find out what people know or want to know about successful online video.

I'm so glad to find out that your thing is video. As much of a social butterfly that I am, I haven't conquered this video phobia things. ;-)

I know I can convey a much more powerful message through video than through the written word - but that's what I am, a writer... wordsmith.

So, I'm hoping that you can give me some hot tips on how to 'conquer the camera.'

Humm that sounds like a title for a great introductory video tutorial that you could produce... 10 - 20 mins long. (There goes the marketer in me!) That would be a great viral video for your marketing efforts.

OK, I will invoice you for my $1,000/minute consulting fee! Just kidding!

But really, I hope that you have some video tutorials that you could upload to this community. Plus, if you're interested in doing an event around this topic, I'd be willing co-host it with you. I know there are a lot of people who want to use video... BUT...

Love the energy of your last email and thanks for the invite to the mastermind.

BTW, it does seem like Facebook has gone cuckoo - something about how to convert a great concept into a corporate balance sheet line item without losing the "organic" integrity or the proverbial square peg and round hole.

The Facebook concept is awesome. Seems like rapid growth is one of the hardest things on start ups - very easy to outgrow yourself, particularly when you're successful - like Facebook is.

Alexandra and I are content generating machines and we have a mission, and a message (actually a whole bunch of them). Getting the message out correctly en masse seems to be the stumbling block - ergo, we're talking marketing and tech...

Sounds like we're a good fit and would love to pursue proactive effective jv relationship.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for starting this Ning site. I was whacked by FB and lost over 3,000+ friends...and many were my SMARTS friends, which really hurt...This seemed like a perfect back up plan.

My business is Cash Gifting, and I am with the Rob Abrams group. Rob has been Cash Gifting for over 8 years and receives about 30k a week in cash gifts! I Googled his name and after 38 pages on Google and doing my research on Cash Gifting I signed up. Boy was I glad it did. It really works and I receive thousands of cash gifts at my door, it is crazy! I have created 4 videos using my cheapo flip camera, which Jim, I gotta tell you it is soooo easy...to do ...two buttons start/stop and zoom and a USB flips out and plugs right into your computer.

I am looking for Solopreneurs, and people who think out of the box like me. Someone that has vision and wants to bless others and themselves in the process.

My struggle is since I was only using Facebook to promote Cash Gifting, and they disabled my account so I had to start over I need to get the word out. Just recently I bought personalized postcards from one of my SMARTS friends, and they went out yesterday. I received my first call from Fort Worth Texas about Cash Gifting. I need this advertising to work in a big way because my husband Joel was just diagnosed with Melanoma, and has had two surgeries this month of August. He is out of work and now I am the sole provider. So my most pressing need is any promotion or shout outs to your friends and family on my behalf to promote My Cash Gifting Activity would will really help bless our family and keep our head above water.

I will upload my videos to this site so you can see my success. Again I am thankful to you Jim, for creating this Master Mind group. It feels so much more personal than Facebook. I hope to meet all of you and have you as my new brilliant marketing friends. This is so exciting since my day job is Middle School Art Teacher and Artist for the last 30 years. Nice to put a new hat on and become a marketing machine like the rest of you.

Great to have you here. This is a great place to learn how to use social networking to build your business. It's different from email marketing and 'unspoken' rules are constantly changing. So you have to stay on top of things.

Nan,
FB is not as friendly as it used to be to business builders. You really have to tread carefully. And you never know when the rules change.

The key in building a business is to first help people see that you can add value to their lives. People are very selfish and are interested in what's in it for them. They could care less about what our problems are - they want to know, "What can you do for me?"

Provide 100% of your focus in that area while marketing and people will come to you.
