Social Media Marketing Mastermind

Use the Power of Social Media to Transform Your Business

I don't know about you, but since I've immersed myself in Twitter, I very seldom blog. But I started thinking the other day, I probably should start back blogging.

If you're using blogging as one of the streams into your sales cycle, it allows you to show your potential client how knowledgeable you are on your topic. You can do instructional posts that confirms your skills and help build interest in your services or products.

So, I've committed to get back to macro-blogging and not just micro-blogging. How about you? How do you use blogging to build your business?

Cheers!
Jim

Jim,

I blog nearly every day and I think it's a great complement to Twitter. There are only 24 hours in each day so it's sometimes difficult to find the time to blog, but I never run out of things to share and usually make it efficient by outlining a new post in my head while I'm brushing my teeth, sitting in traffic or cooking dinner. As you said, blogging is a great way to demonstrate your particular areas of expertise. It's also a fun way to create community around shared passions. Since it's search engine candy, you can't go wrong adding your blog back to your "to do" list.

Jim,

Someone on Twitter just Tweeted the question whether anyone has ever felt "cheated" because a favorite blogger stopped blogging because s/he got too busy. Can't find the Tweet right now. Thought of you when I saw it. Bet some of your blog readers did too. While I haven't been to your blog yet, I am sure it's great!

Hi Jim,

Just wanted to say a big hello to everyone out here as I am new to the network!

I also try and blog at least a couple of times a week - its something I really try to encourage my clients to do much more of, so it's important for me to practise what I preach too.

I think its a great compliment to twitter, especially if you are twittering about the blogs you are writing and then blogging about the twitterings you post - the cross promotion possibilities present themselves over and over again in social media marketing - and I for one, believe thats a really big and intelligent aspect of social media marketing.

If you're not doing as much as you can - and tracking everything, then you're not doing enough!
